Ivan Reitman

Élete
Ivan Reitman 1946. október 27-én született Komárno-ban, Csekszlovákiában. Szülei Klara and Ladislav Reitman. Négy éves korában költöztek el Kanadába. Torontóba járt iskolába, és tagja volt a Twintone Fournevű együttesnek.

Karrier
Első munkája producerként a torontói CITY-TV-nél volt. 1973-ban rendezte a Spellboun-ot, ami később Broadway-re került. A nagy áttörést számára az 1978-ban rendezett Animal House és az 1979-ben rendezett Meatballs hozta meg számára. Számos komédiának volt rendezője és producere, mint a Legal Eagles, Twins, Ghostbusters, Dave, Junior,  Six Days Seven Nights és a My Super Ex-Girlfriend. Később egyre kevesebb filmet rendezett, de nőtt a szerepe producerként, hála cégének a Northern Lights Entertainment-nek. Színészként is voltak kisebb szerepei, de inkább a hangját kölcsönözték.

Magánélet
1976-ban házasodott össze Geneviève Robert-el, akivel azóta is együtt vannak. Három közös gyermekük van, Jason Reitman, Catherine Reitman és Caroline Reitman.
