Brad Paisley

Brad Paisley 1972. október 28-án született Glen Dale-ben, Nyugat-Virginia államban, Amerikában.

Azt állítja, hogy a szeretete a country iránt abból ered, hogy amikor 8 éves volt, nagypapájától megkapta első gitárját (Sears Danelectro Silvertone), majd pedig ő is tanította gitározni. 10 éves korában megvolt első fellépése is a helyi templomban, ott és akkor még csak énekelt. 12 éves korában megírta első dalát, a Born on Christmas Day-t. Közben folyamatosan órákat vett egy profi gitárostól, Clarence "Hank" Goddard-tól. Majd amikor 13 éves lett, Paisley és Goddard megalapították a fiú első zenekarát, a Brad Paisley and the C-Notes-ot, melyben közreműködött két felnőtt barátja is. 

Amíg iskolába járt, az igazgatója hallotta őt, miközben előadta a Born on Christmas Day-t, így felkérte, hogy lépjen fel a helyi Rotary Club-ban. Ott volt Tom Miller is, aki a programigazgatója egy rádiónak Wheeling-ben, Nyugat-Virginiában. Miller ezután a fellépés után felkérte Paisley-t, hogy szerepeljen a rádióműsorában, a Jamboree USA-ben. Innentől az út egyenesen vezetett a hírnév felé. Ő volt a legfiatalabb ember, aki bekerült ebbe a műsorba, majd pedig vált híressé általa.

Paisley végzett a John Marshall Középiskolában, Glen Dale-ben, majd két évig tanult a West Liberty Egyetemen. Ezután elnyert egy teljes mértékben kifizetett, ASCAP* ösztöndíjat a Belmont Egyetemre, Nashville-ben (1993-tól 1995-ig).

Miután elvégezte a Belmont Egyetemet, egy zeneipari diplomával térhetett haza. Ezután egy héten belül aláírt egy dalszerzői szerződést az EMI Music Publishing-gal.
