Blake Snell, the 32-year-old dual Cy Young Award winner, has officially joined the Los Angeles Dodgers. The team introduced Snell in an official signing ceremony held on December 4 (KST) at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
Snell signed a five-year, $182 million contract with the Dodgers, the third-largest deal ever for a left-handed pitcher. The agreement was finalized on December 1 and immediately positioned the Dodgers as a frontrunner for the 2025 World Series title.
Dodgers President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman welcomed Snell warmly, saying, "There's a saying: 'If you can't beat him, sign him.' We’re thrilled to have Blake on our side to help us chase World Series championships next year and beyond."
Since his MLB debut in 2016, Snell has played for the Tampa Bay Rays, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants, amassing a career record of 76-58 with a 3.19 ERA over 211 games. Known for his strikeout prowess, Snell holds the highest career strikeouts-per-nine-innings ratio in MLB history at 11.2.
