Oedipus élménybeszámoló(2008)
I.rész

My Oedipus Adventure
In the past year of 2008, I had the good fortune to see my favorite actor, Mr. Ralph Fiennes in two stunning and different plays. I was fortunate enough to see him earlier in the year in "God of Carnage" , but seeing Mr. Fiennes perform in the ancient Greek tragedy "Oedipus" was a stronger, more powerful experience for me. Being at the National Theatre in London, and getting the opportunity to see him in this play, not once, but twice, is truly a wonderful and treasured memory.
I had to fly to London from my home in Hungary for this amazing weekend to be. I got there safely and was meeting with new friends of which I had never met face to face before. I had only knew of them through our common interest in Mr. Fiennes. We knew each other only from on-line meetings through e-mail and text messages.
The first of my new friends which I was to meet up with was Nathalie, who was from Paris. I got up early that day to meet her by 10:00 am at a place where she and I had decided to meet. I was pretty sure I had gotten there before my friend, so I sat down at a table and tried to look for her. After a little while, we found each other. We sat down to talk with each other, and exchange small gifts. Nathalie was very generous in giving me a copy of the book "Oscar and Lucinda" small bag of goodies for my trip, as well as a stunning photograph of Ralph in a black shirt. Nathalie is also an artist, and she had brought with her a few sketchbooks that she had drawn many different pictures of Ralph in which she showed me. I thought her artwork was beautiful, and if Ralph had the chance to see her drawings he might feel the same. We also met up with another friend by the name of Zsuzsanna, who is also from Hungary.
All three of us headed down to the "Cottesloe theatre" to see Mr. Fiennes do a interview in which he received an award for his work in film which also had a small question and answer period at the end. I remember feeling very excited as we got to the theatre. Just the thought of being so close to him makes me want to blush... Unfortunately for Zsuazsanna Nathalie and myself, we didn't get the chance to sit near each other at this interview with Ralph. But my other friend Sheraton, whom I hadn't met face to face yet, would be sitting with me. So meeting her was going to be an interesting and fun experience for me too. As I looked for my seat she and I found each other, and she surprised me with a copy of the book "The English Patient". We were both lucky enough to be sitting in the front row on the left side of the side. I waited patiently for the interview to start.
I didn't have to wait long, for the man who would interview and Ralph came on stage together. Everyone clapped and waved to Ralph as he came on stage. He began his interview by talking about how he decided to become an actor. I couldn't look away from him... I looked up at him with such admiration. I just felt as if I was so lucky to be there in the theatre that night. I had a chance that not too many other people were ever going to have. I sat there speechless, drinking in each and every word that poured from his mouth. He was funny and sweet... and of course, gorgeous... and I discovered a different Ralph Fiennes that I didn't know before. I desperately wanted to ask a question that night but, with my English not being a good as I hope one day it will be, I was afraid to ask one. The experience of that evening is something that will be with me for the rest of my life and will forever in my soul.
After the interview was over, we all headed to the National Theatre to see Mr. Fiennes in Jonathan Kent's production of "Oedipus". I spent my time chatting with my new friend Zsuzsanna until the play was ready to start. Our seats were very close to the stage and I knew I would be able to see many details that I might otherwise have missed by sitting far away. I focused all my energy into watching Ralph upon the stage. His acting was enthralling, and I was truly able to completely understand the meaning of the play. I must admit that I couldn't take my eyes off of Ralph, and that he was a very powerful presence on the stage. After the play was over, myself and my friends headed over to the stage door, hoping to get a chance to him the man face to face. We waited with anticipation for his eventual exit...
He appeared at the stage door and seemed very happy and relaxed... he must have felt as if everything had gone well that night. He had such a beautiful smile on his face. I was very nervous, but was able to get his attention. I had him sign the photograph that my friend Nathalie had given me earlier in the day and after he signed it, he smiled and he stared at me with those beautiful, sexy eyes of his. I had brought with me from my home in Hungary a bottle of Hungarian wine along with a small note of thanks to him. I handed the present to him and said nervously "This is for you" I also wanted him to know that it was a pleasure for me to give him such a small token of my esteem. I mentioned to him that it was a Hungarian wine. He replied back "Thank you" and looked at me for another minute or so. I asked him if I could have a handshake and he very generously gave me one... very gently and softly... it was the first handshake among the encounters that I had with him and it was wonderful. As he walked away, he had my gift to him in his hands. nathalie wa able to give Ralph one of her sketchbooks. Even though he told to leave it at the stage door and he would get it tomorrow, he did tell her that her sketches were lovely.
The next night I had the chance to see the play again. I really enjoyed the second chance to see the play as much as I did the first. I was able to pick up on things I missed the first time around.
After it was over, my friend Zsuzsanna and I wanted to see if we could get another chance to meet with him. so we headed back to the stage door as we did the night before. He emerged form the stage door and readily started signing autographs to the fans that awaited him. This time, I gave him a copy of the "constant Gardener" DVD cover to sign. It wasn't for me but for a friend of mine. He gladly signed it for me.
After he signed the cover, I got the courage to ask if he enjoyed my gift I had given him the night before. He answered "I liked it very much" ... and when he spoke to me, he looked into my eyes... I couldn't concentrate well enough to understand what he said next due to my English, but he did say again the he did love the wine very much. I asked if it would be okay if I could take a picture with him. He agreed and we stood there patiently as my friend took our picture. Unfortunately, Zsuzsanna's camera didn't work properly at that moment, but he was very patient and waited until we were able to take one. I couldn't believe that I was standing so close to such a gorgeous man! He was beautiful, generous and kind.
Before he walked off, I told him my name. I said "I am Agnes" and he took amy hand in his, and shook my hand again. As I left, he said back to me "Bye, bye" at least three times... the night was perfect. My Oedipus experience from beginning to end was wonderful. I still feel intoxicated by these encounters and I will never forget these moments for the rest of my days.
